About the role
Join a welcoming primary school in Benwell as an experienced SEND Teacher. You will work within a dedicated SEND Hub that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and Global Developmental Delay, helping them achieve personalised learning goals in a structured environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, highly personalised lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Create a calm, structured, communication‑friendly classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, support staff, families and external professionals.
- Use a range of strategies to support communication, social development and emotional regulation.
- Monitor progress, celebrate successes and adapt interventions as required.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly ASC.
- Understanding of routine, consistency and relationship‑based practice.
- Ability to adapt lessons for a wide range of learning needs.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and building positive relationships.
