External Sales Executive – Field-Based Role

About the role

Join Hayley Dexis as an External Sales Executive, responsible for covering the Bury St Edmunds branch and surrounding counties. You will work on the road across Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, managing existing accounts and pursuing new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Visit existing customers across the region to maintain relationships and identify upsell opportunities.
• Generate new leads by cold‑calling, door‑to‑door visits and networking within target sectors such as agriculture, food, quarrying and independent businesses.
• Present and sell Hayley Dexis engineering consumables and related products.
• Achieve weekly and monthly sales targets and report activity to management.
• Provide product advice and after‑sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• High motivation and enthusiasm for sales.
• Strong communication and persuasion skills, comfortable with cold calling and door‑knocking.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high level of perseverance and persistence.
• Interest in learning technical product range and engineering applications.
• Prior experience in external sales, preferably within engineering consumables, manufacturing or related industries.
