EYFS Assistant – Early Years Support (PR8)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated EYFS Assistant to join an Early Years Foundation Stage or reception class in the Southport (PR8) area. You will work closely with the class teacher to support children aged 3 to 5, helping them reach key developmental milestones in a safe and stimulating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver playful, educational activities that align with EYFS learning goals.
• Observe, record and share each child’s progress with the class teacher.
• Assist children with daily routines, hygiene, transitions and active play.
• Create a secure, vocabulary‑rich setting that encourages curiosity and early learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an EYFS Assistant, Reception Teaching Assistant or Nursery Nurse.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and curriculum requirements.
• Warm, patient demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of EYFS guidelines and early childhood development principles.
