EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant – Camden

About the role

We are looking for a caring and proactive EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the London Borough of Camden. The role supports young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, focusing on pupils with physical needs, autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to children with physical disabilities, including assistance with mobility and personal care.
• Facilitate access to learning activities and promote independence in daily routines.
• Support early communication, social interaction and sensory development.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCO, therapists and external professionals.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with young children with special educational needs.
• Experience or strong interest in supporting physical needs or disabilities (highly desirable).
• Patient, nurturing and attentive to individual needs.
• Willingness to provide personal care and mobility assistance when required.
• Commitment to a full‑time, term‑time position in Camden.

Required skills

• Experience supporting children with physical needs or disabilities.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic understanding of early years SEN practices.
