EYFS Teacher – Catholic Schools (Wakefield)

About the role

The Catholic Diocesan Supply Service (CDSS) is seeking qualified EYFS/Reception teachers to work in Catholic schools across Wakefield. This position offers the opportunity to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum within a faith‑based environment, supporting children’s development and the schools’ Catholic ethos.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver EYFS lessons in line with the national framework and Catholic values.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment for young learners.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to enhance pupil progress.
• Assess and record children’s development, providing feedback to parents and senior staff.
• Participate in whole‑school activities, assemblies and faith‑related events.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (ECT) with a recognised EYFS qualification.
• Demonstrated understanding of the EYFS framework and early years pedagogy.
• Enthusiastic, engaging and able to inspire young children.
• Willingness to work in a Catholic school setting and uphold its ethos.

Required skills

• Core knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Ability to lead and support teaching assistants.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
