EYFS Teaching Assistant & 1:1 Support Assistant

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants to join a range of primary schools in Liverpool. You will work directly with children aged 3‑5, helping them develop confidence, communication and social skills in a nurturing early years environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support EYFS children in Nursery and Reception classrooms, facilitating adult‑led activities and child‑initiated play.
• Provide one‑to‑one assistance to pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum.
• Observe and record children’s progress in line with the EYFS profile.
• Assist with SEND, neurodivergence and speech, language and communication needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment that promotes the Characteristics of Effective Learning.

Required profile

• Patient, nurturing and confident working with children aged 3‑5.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and embrace a play‑based learning approach.
• Experience in primary nurseries, reception, pre‑schools, private nurseries, SEND settings or youth work is welcomed.
