EYFS Teaching Assistant & 1:1 Support Assistant – Liverpool

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants to join primary schools in Liverpool. You will work with children aged 3‑5, supporting their early learning, development and wellbeing in nursery and reception settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering EYFS curriculum through adult‑led activities and child‑initiated play.
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum.
• Observe and record children’s progress in line with the EYFS profile.
• Support pupils with SEND, neurodivergence (e.g., ASD, ADHD) or speech, language and communication needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Required profile

• Patient, nurturing and confident working with 3‑5‑year‑olds.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and embrace a play‑based learning approach.
• Experience in primary nursery/reception, pre‑school, private nursery, SEND settings or youth care is welcomed.

Required skills

• Understanding of EYFS framework and the Seven Areas of Learning and Development.
• Knowledge of supporting children with SEND, neurodivergence or speech and language needs.
