EYFS Teaching Assistant – Early Years Support (Blackpool)

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Blackpool to hire an EYFS Teaching Assistant who will support a child joining Reception in September. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a child's transition into school while working within a supportive Early Years team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception child starting in September.
• Assist the child’s communication, language and social development throughout the school day.
• Deliver and reinforce phonics activities to build early reading skills.
• Facilitate learning through play, creating engaging, child‑led experiences.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals to meet individual needs.
• Observe, record progress and contribute to planning and review meetings where appropriate.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
• Experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
• Confidence delivering phonics interventions.
• Understanding of play‑based, child‑led learning.
• Patient, nurturing and committed to helping every child reach their potential.
• Excellent communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
