EYFS Teaching Assistant

About the role

Are you passionate about helping young children learn and develop? This position supports Early Years settings in Bury, working alongside experienced practitioners to foster communication, social skills, confidence and early academic understanding. You will assist with structured activities, play‑based learning, phonics, early mathematics and everyday classroom routines.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting children during play and structured learning sessions
• Helping develop communication and language skills
• Supporting early phonics and literacy activities
• Encouraging early mathematical development
• Assisting children to develop independence
• Managing classroom routines and transitions
• Providing additional help to children who need it
• Collaborating closely with the class teacher

Required profile

• Previous Early Years experience desirable (nursery, childcare or relevant youth work experience acceptable)
• Patient, energetic and comfortable working in a busy classroom environment
