EYFS Teaching Assistant – Nursery & Reception

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is placing EYFS Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Harrow on an immediate and ongoing basis. Positions are available in Nursery and Reception classes, either full‑time or part‑time. You will support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum through both play‑based and adult‑led activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in delivering EYFS curriculum covering communication, language, personal, social and emotional development, early phonics and mathematics.
• Maintain a stimulating, well‑organised learning environment.
• Contribute to observations, learning journeys and record‑keeping.
• Support children with additional needs and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Help with daily care routines appropriate to the age group.

Required profile

• Experience working with children aged 3‑5 in Nursery or Reception.
• Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and Development Matters.
• Warm, nurturing and patient approach.
• Ability to support early phonics, communication and social development.
• Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification (desirable).
• Experience with SEND is an advantage.
• Current safeguarding and child protection awareness.
