EYFS Teaching Assistant - Reception Class

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Morecambe to find a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant for the Reception class starting September 2026. This full‑time, long‑term position supports young children as they begin their educational journey, working closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of Reception‑aged children.
• Assist with the delivery of EYFS activities and learning opportunities.
• Help children settle into school routines and build confidence.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Contribute to observations and assessments in line with EYFS requirements.
• Work with small groups and provide one‑to‑one support where needed.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
• Recent experience in an EYFS setting.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Patient, nurturing and positive attitude.
• Genuine passion for supporting young children’s development and wellbeing.
