EYFS Teaching Assistant – Supply & Long-Term Opportunities

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants to support children in nursery and reception classes across primary schools and Early Years settings in Bristol. The role offers flexible arrangements, from ad‑hoc supply work to long‑term placements and temp‑to‑perm opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support children in Nursery and Reception classes with daily learning activities.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering play‑based and child‑led learning.
• Encourage social, emotional and educational development through structured activities.
• Help prepare learning resources and classroom materials.
• Participate in observations and assessments as required.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Provide additional support for children with SEND or other needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in EYFS, nursery, preschool or primary settings.
• Good understanding of child development and the EYFS Framework.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and nurturing approach.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Desirable: Level 2/3 childcare qualification, Teaching Assistant qualification, Paediatric First Aid, safeguarding training (can be provided).
