EYFS Teaching Assistant – Support Reception Child

About the role
We are seeking a caring EYFS Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a child joining Reception in September. Working within a welcoming primary school, you will help the child settle into school life while contributing to a supportive Early Years team.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver dedicated 1:1 assistance to the Reception child throughout the school day.
- Support communication, language and social development.
- Reinforce phonics activities to build early reading skills.
- Facilitate play‑based learning and create engaging experiences.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals.
- Observe, record progress and contribute to planning and review meetings.
Required profile
- Previous experience in an EYFS setting.
- Experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
- Confidence delivering phonics interventions.
- Understanding of play‑based, child‑led learning.
- Patient, nurturing and team‑oriented.
