Fabricator / Fitter Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Fabricator / Fitter Technician to join Airbus Helicopters UK at Oxford Airport. The role supports the design, development and production of bespoke helicopter components, ensuring safety and airworthiness across customisation and MRO projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture detailed sheet‑metal parts to aviation standards in the workshop or hangar.
• Inspect and verify subcontractor‑produced components against engineering drawings.
• Assemble and fit parts, apply protective coatings and perform repairs using sheet‑metal and composite techniques.
• Collaborate closely with the design team on prototype and retrofit projects.
• Assist with daily hangar operations, including aircraft handling and housekeeping in line with the “Clean As You Go” initiative.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Strong manual dexterity and experience working in confined spaces.
• Good communication, organised and methodical approach.
• Reliability under pressure and adherence to health & safety requirements.

Required skills

• Sheet‑metal fabrication and fitting.
• Composite repair techniques.
• Application of protective coatings.
• Inspection of parts against design data.
• Use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
