Facade Designer – Permanent Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facade Designer to join a well‑established construction firm in Henley‑on‑Thames. The role is permanent and on‑site, offering the chance to work on a variety of complex façade projects while applying your CAD expertise and knowledge of building physics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed façade design drawings using CAD, ensuring production‑ready outputs.
• Interpret complex design briefs and follow advanced technical instructions.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of façade engineering, material selection and fire engineering considerations.
• Conduct risk assessments on material choices and design solutions, including compliance with the Building Safety Act.
• Produce specifications aligned with environmental drivers and building physics principles.
• Ensure compliance with Building Control regulations and CDM requirements.
• Identify project drivers, risks and variations, maintaining accurate records.
• Lead small project teams and mentor junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Facade Designer or in a similar role.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Experience reviewing and checking design outputs from junior team members.
• Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency.
• Knowledge of fire engineering principles.
• Understanding of building physics and environmental performance.
• Familiarity with Building Control regulations, the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations.
• Risk assessment and mitigation skills.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £50,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time, permanent contract.
• On‑site work in Henley‑on‑Thames, South East England.
