Facilities Electrical Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced electrical maintenance professional to join a specialist education campus in North London. This full‑time, temporary position starts immediately for an initial three‑month period with the potential to become permanent. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am‑4:00 pm, paid at £17.52 per hour plus holiday pay.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across campus buildings.
• Maintain lighting, power supplies, electrical systems and associated building services equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with current regulations and Health & Safety standards.
• Liaise with colleagues, contractors and suppliers to deliver an efficient service.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, manage spare parts and support the out‑of‑hours emergency rota.
• Support wider maintenance activities and work flexibly across different sites as required.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs within commercial or similar environments.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, LV systems, pumps, boilers, AHUs and computerised maintenance management systems.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Confidence working in an environment where animals are present.
