Facilities Management Internship – 12‑Month Placement

About the role

This 12‑month Facilities Management placement offers a hands‑on learning experience within Airbus Defence and Space’s site in Portsmouth. You will support day‑to‑day operations while contributing to projects such as office refurbishments, biodiversity initiatives and catering quality improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily General Services activities including cleaning, catering, grounds maintenance and people transportation.
• Support office refurbishment, biodiversity and sustainability projects.
• Contribute to catering quality checks and safety actions.
• Help organise employee initiatives, VIP events and space management tasks.
• Learn safe operations at a manufacturing facility and conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Plan and own weekly and monthly activity schedules.
• Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure service delivery meets quality, cost and timing targets.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate in Business, Project Management, Administration, Operations or Finance.
• Demonstrated interest in project management.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the UK as required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multinational environment.

What we offer

• Salary of £24,500 per year.
• 37‑hour work week with flexible and hybrid working options.
