Facilities Manager – Commercial Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join a busy property management team responsible for a large commercial portfolio across London and the South East. The role is hands‑on, covering contractor management, compliance, utilities, maintenance and security of vacant properties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day facilities requirements across a large commercial property portfolio.
• Arrange and oversee planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Obtain quotations, appoint contractors and monitor their performance.
• Manage fire risk assessments and ensure remedial works are completed on time.
• Oversee compliance with fire safety, health and safety, and other statutory requirements.
• Deal with utility providers and resolve utility‑related issues.
• Assist with budgeting and management of service charges.
• Conduct property inspections, identify maintenance needs and maintain accurate records.
• Secure and maintain vacant properties, including alarms, inspections and boarding‑up works.
• Collaborate closely with Property Managers, tenants and external suppliers.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Facilities Manager, Estates Manager or similar role.
• Experience working within commercial property.
• Good understanding of health and safety and property compliance requirements.
• Experience with fire risk assessments and remedial works.
• Strong contractor management experience.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: IOSH, NEBOSH or other relevant health & safety qualification.
• Desirable: Experience of service charge budgets and multi‑let commercial properties.
