Facilities Manager – North Bristol

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of a growing manufacturing site in North Bristol. Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, you will own all aspects of facilities, infrastructure and health & safety across workshop and office environments.

Key responsibilities

• Take full accountability for performance, safety and upkeep of workshop and office facilities.
• Manage building services including HVAC, utilities, compressed air, power distribution and life‑safety systems.
• Lead planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Plan site layout, space utilisation and infrastructure to support operational growth.
• Oversee workshop operations through direct reports and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, CDM and other health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Support audits and maintain quality, customer and regulatory standards.
• Control facilities budgets, drive cost efficiencies and monitor utilities consumption.
• Manage relationships with external contractors, suppliers and service providers, including permits to work.
• Develop and maintain asset registers, lifecycle planning and KPI reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing facilities in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with responsibility for teams and external contractors.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, CDM).
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive cost control.
