Facilities Operative

About the role

GXO Logistics is seeking a Facilities Operative to join the Maintenance team at its River Island site in Milton Keynes. You will help keep the distribution centre running smoothly by performing planned preventative maintenance, fixing plumbing and electrical issues, and supporting broader operational projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to required standards.
• Perform plumbing repairs and small electrical tasks, including wiring and lighting maintenance.
• Support site infrastructure projects, equipment moves and physical maintenance work.
• Ensure material handling equipment remains safe, operational and fit for purpose.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota after successful probation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in plumbing, electrical or general maintenance.
• Level 2 qualification in a relevant maintenance discipline (Level 3 preferred).
• Proactive "can‑do" attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Full, clean driving licence and flexibility for on‑call duties.
