Factory Cleaner – 8 Hours per Week

About the role

John Smedley is looking for a reliable part‑time Factory Cleaner to work 8 hours each Friday. You will help keep the production environment clean, safe and ready for the world‑renowned knitwear manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Clean production areas, machinery, floors and workspaces to high hygiene standards.
• Support scheduled deep‑cleaning of manufacturing equipment and operational zones.
• Use approved cleaning equipment and materials safely and responsibly.
• Complete cleaning tasks within agreed timeframes and maintain tidy work areas.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Provide occasional extra hours for holiday or absence cover.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards.
• Physically capable of manual cleaning duties.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Detail‑focused and safety‑conscious.
• Previous industrial or commercial cleaning experience is helpful but not essential.

Required skills

• Industrial cleaning equipment operation.
• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals and materials.
