Factory Operative

About the role

The Factory Operative supports safe, accurate and efficient receipt, manufacture, storage and dispatch of DYWIDAG products at the Southam facility. The role is multi‑skilled, requiring flexibility across goods‑in, goods‑out, order picking, bar cutting, materials handling, ground‑anchor manufacture and waste‑management.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming goods, report shortages or damage and store materials correctly.
• Pick, label, pack and stage customer and production orders within required timescales.
• Operate industrial band saws, overhead cranes and, where trained, forklift trucks to cut, lift and move materials.
• Manufacture and assemble ground anchors according to drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out visual and dimensional quality checks and record results.
• Support stock‑control activities, waste segregation and maintain clean work areas.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow procedures.
• Ability to perform practical factory, warehouse and materials‑handling tasks.
• Good attention to detail for checking quantities, dimensions, labels and paperwork.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to interpret work orders and complete records.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with a positive attitude to multi‑skilling.
• Willingness to complete all required training and competency assessments.
