Faculty Accountant

About the role

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation is seeking a Faculty Accountant to support its expanding finance function. You will work within a dynamic academic environment, providing specialist financial guidance and helping to shape the future of healthcare research and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts for the school.
• Develop, implement and maintain robust finance procedures.
• Contribute to school‑wide projects using specialist knowledge and lead short‑term finance initiatives.
• Provide advice on financial and contractual aspects of new funding applications and ongoing projects.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or finalist with a proven record of passing exams.
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems or the principles they operate on.
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely specialist guidance on complex financial issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, collaborative and willing to challenge inefficient ways of working.
