Family Law Team Leader

About the role

Our client, a well‑established Legal 500 law firm, is seeking a Family Law Team Leader to provide expert legal advice with professionalism and empathy. The role combines managing a varied family law caseload with leading the office team to ensure high standards of performance, compliance and client care. The successful solicitor will work on a hybrid basis across Horsham and surrounding offices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied Family Law caseload, delivering expert advice in line with SRA standards.
• Draft legal documents, attend hearings, instruct counsel and progress matters efficiently.
• Maintain accurate time recording, manage costs, fees and funding arrangements.
• Build and maintain client relationships, supporting business development and the firm’s reputation.
• Oversee branch performance, compliance and financial targets, including billing and debt management.
• Lead, motivate and develop fee earners and support staff, conducting team meetings and recruitment.
• Ensure confidentiality and uphold professional standards, supporting compliance officers with file reviews and training.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the office.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years post‑qualification experience in Family Law.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Commercial awareness and experience driving business development.
• Excellent communication, organisational and client‑care abilities.
• Professional, empathetic approach to sensitive matters.
• Commitment to compliance, confidentiality and high professional standards.
• Proactive, collaborative and values‑led mindset.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary between £70,000 and £75,000 per year plus a bonus scheme.
• Hybrid working model.
