Family Solicitor – Associate Level (4+ Years PQE) – Glasgow

About the role

This associate‑level Family Solicitor position is based in central Glasgow and offers the chance to manage a diverse private family law portfolio with a high degree of autonomy. You will act as a bridge between senior partners and junior fee‑earners, providing guidance while developing your own caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of private family law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements and domestic abuse cases.
• Provide pragmatic, empathetic advice to clients throughout sensitive and often challenging situations.
• Mentor and support junior solicitors and paralegals, reviewing their work and offering development feedback.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to strengthen the department and contribute to practice development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with professional standards.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Proven ability to run an independent caseload with strong client‑focused service.
• Comfortable operating as a mid‑level fee earner and supporting junior colleagues.
• Organised, proactive and able to work autonomously.
