Family Solicitor

About the role

Join a growing Family team at a regional Legal 500 firm in London City Centre. You will handle a varied caseload of family law matters, supporting both legal aid and privately funded clients while contributing to the department’s expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload including care proceedings, private law children, divorce, financial remedies and cohabitation disputes.
• Advise clients on domestic abuse matters such as non‑molestation and occupation orders.
• Undertake advocacy work where appropriate.
• Provide clear, client‑focused legal advice across legal aid and private matters.
• Support business development and networking activities to grow the department.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with colleagues for cross‑referrals.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience in family law.
• Strong background in childcare, domestic abuse and private family matters.
• Proven ability to manage an independent caseload.
• Willingness to undertake advocacy and work with legal aid clients.
• Proactive approach to networking and business development.
• Interest in pursuing panel accreditation.
