Family Solicitor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a busy family law department in Bishop Auckland. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload and provide compassionate, practical advice to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Handle divorce, financial remedy, children, domestic abuse, cohabitation, adoption and other family law matters.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence, court applications and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients at hearings, negotiations and mediations.
• Maintain strong client relationships through excellent client care.
• Collaborate with barristers, mediators, counsellors and external agencies.
• Stay up‑to‑date with developments in family law and pursue continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate.
• Minimum three years’ experience handling a family law caseload (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of family law and court procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client care abilities.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently with high attention to detail.
