About the role

Our client, a leading independent multi‑practice law firm in Luton, is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join their private family law team. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape and grow a department, leading a team of junior lawyers while handling a diverse caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive advice on divorce, financial remedy, cohabitation disputes, child matters, domestic violence, and pre‑/post‑nuptial agreements.
• Mentor and lead junior lawyers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service.
• Drive business development activities, generating new client leads and expanding the practice.
• Build and manage the family law department from the ground up.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Proven track record in business development and client acquisition.
• Strong managerial mindset with the ability to lead by example.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with LEXCEL case‑management software.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range £55,000‑£80,000 per year.
• Full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule (9:00‑17:30).
