Family Support & Group Coordinator (Part‑time)

About the role

The Family Support & Group Coordinator will join a leading UK family‑support charity to ensure families receive timely, appropriate help. Working from Home‑Start Elmbridge, you will manage a caseload of families, supervise volunteers and run support groups.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee an allocated caseload, ensuring families receive the right support from referral through to completion.
• Implement and uphold safeguarding practices, always prioritising children’s welfare.
• Recruit, train, supervise and support home‑visiting parent volunteers.
• Plan, organise and facilitate group sessions for families as required.
• Maintain effective communication and partnership with external professionals and agencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting parents and young children, paid or voluntary.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and legislation affecting children and families.
• Knowledge of local agencies delivering services to children and families.
• Ability to supervise volunteers, work collaboratively in a team and build relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the charity’s values, a clean driver’s licence and access to a car.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.
