Family Support Worker – Bolton Council

About the role
We are seeking four full‑time Family Support Workers to join the safeguarding team at Bolton Council. Working alongside Safeguarding Social Workers, you will deliver high‑quality interventions with children and families, helping them achieve positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Support family time sessions and conduct home visits.
- Provide direct work with children, including behaviour management strategies, routines and boundaries.
- Assist families with budgeting and refer them to appropriate support services.
- Work with families subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and those involved in court proceedings.
- Maintain an office presence part of the week and travel to Bolton on short notice to meet service needs.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with experience in family support or safeguarding.
- Ability to work 37 hours per week on a full‑time basis.
- Willingness to travel locally and respond promptly to service demands.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and multi‑agency collaboration.
