Family Time Worker – Referral & Assessment Team

About the role

Vitalis is recruiting an experienced Family Time Worker to join Bolton Council’s Referral and Assessment Team. This full‑time contract position supports children and families, helping them achieve positive outcomes through direct intervention and collaborative work with social workers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver family‑time support and conduct home visits as required.
• Work alongside Referral and Assessment Social Workers on cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection, and court proceedings.
• Provide behaviour‑management guidance, routine and boundary setting for families.
• Assist families with budgeting and refer them to appropriate support services.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to multi‑agency safeguarding discussions.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in family support, child protection or social work settings.
• Ability to travel to Bolton on short notice and work both in an office and in the community.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding principles.
