Field Engineer – Fare Collection Systems

About the role

Our client, a leading European provider of customer‑operated access and payment technology, is expanding its fare collection team on the South Coast. As a Field Engineer you will travel across the Poole region and surrounding South West England to maintain, service and repair a range of fare collection systems for public authorities, transport operators and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on electrical and mechanical components of fare collection equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electro‑mechanical faults on site.
• Configure and troubleshoot low‑level network connections for system communication.
• Provide on‑site technical support and customer service to a diverse client base.
• Document service activities and report findings to the central engineering team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a field‑based engineering role maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to communicate professionally.
• Valid UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.

Required skills

• Electro/mechanical fault finding.
• Low‑level network configuration.
