Field Interviewer – Part‑time (Bromley)

About the role

Natcen Social Research is looking for enthusiastic part‑time Field Interviewers to visit households and conduct face‑to‑face research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. You will work in your local community, using a tablet or laptop to record real‑world experiences that help shape public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and arrange interview appointments with residents who have received a prior invitation letter.
• Conduct structured interviews using a tablet or laptop, ensuring accurate capture of respondents’ answers.
• Follow health and safety guidelines while travelling to and from interview locations.
• Submit interview data promptly through Natcen’s secure online platform.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 business insurance for the vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a camera.
• At least 18 hours of availability per week, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with a laptop or tablet and internet‑based data entry tools.
• Ability to operate a camera‑equipped device for interview recording.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per completed interview (average hourly rate ≈ £15.12 including holiday pay).
• Admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
• Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour and mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 miles).
• £250 bonus after launch, with additional £250 bonuses at two and four months.
