Field Interviewer (Part‑time) – Redhill

About the role

As a Field Interviewer you will visit households in Redhill and surrounding areas to carry out research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. Using a tablet or laptop you will guide conversations that capture real experiences of daily life in Britain.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and conduct face‑to‑face interviews in participants’ homes.
• Use a tablet or laptop with camera to record responses accurately.
• Enter interview data directly into the digital questionnaire.
• Manage travel to and from interview locations, logging mileage and time.
• Maintain professional conduct and respect participants’ decisions.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 business insurance for the vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband connection.
• Laptop or tablet with a working camera.
• At least 18 hours available per week with flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy (ability to operate a tablet or laptop).
• Use of video‑calling or recording tools.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per interview (typical rate).
• Admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
• Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour (most projects).
• Mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 miles).
• £250 bonus after launch, plus additional bonuses at two and four months.
• Average hourly rate around £15.12, with higher rates for experienced interviewers.
