About the role
As a Field Interviewer you will visit households in Redhill and surrounding areas to carry out research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. Using a tablet or laptop you will guide conversations that capture real experiences of daily life in Britain.
Key responsibilities
- Knock on doors and conduct face‑to‑face interviews in participants’ homes.
- Use a tablet or laptop with camera to record responses accurately.
- Enter interview data directly into the digital questionnaire.
- Manage travel to and from interview locations, logging mileage and time.
- Maintain professional conduct and respect participants’ decisions.
Required profile
- Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
- Class 1 business insurance for the vehicle.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete a DBS check.
- Reliable home broadband connection.
- Laptop or tablet with a working camera.
- At least 18 hours available per week with flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.
- Strong verbal and written English.
Required skills
- Basic computer literacy (ability to operate a tablet or laptop).
- Use of video‑calling or recording tools.
What we offer
- £20‑£30 per interview (typical rate).
- Admin fees and holiday pay (12.1%).
- Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour (most projects).
- Mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 miles).
- £250 bonus after launch, plus additional bonuses at two and four months.
- Average hourly rate around £15.12, with higher rates for experienced interviewers.
