Field Interviewer (Part‑time, Romford)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our research team as part‑time Field Interviewers in Romford. You will visit households, conduct face‑to‑face interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport, and capture genuine experiences that help shape public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and introduce yourself to residents who have been pre‑informed about the study.
• Use a tablet or laptop to guide structured conversations and record responses accurately.
• Handle refusals professionally and continue to seek participants throughout the assigned area.
• Report completed interviews and any issues promptly to the project coordinator.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car with Class 1 business insurance.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet equipped with a camera.
• Availability of at least 18 hours per week, with flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Comfortable using basic technology (tablet or laptop) for data entry.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per interview, plus admin fees, holiday pay and travel compensation.
• Travel time paid at £4.68 per hour and mileage reimbursement at 36p per mile (up to 10 000 miles).
• Performance bonuses (£250 after launch and at two‑month intervals).
• Average hourly rate of approximately £15.12, with higher rates for experienced interviewers.
