Field Sales Engineer - Electronics

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field Sales Engineer to join Shorterm Group’s growing sales team in central England. The role combines technical expertise in RF, microwave and electronics with a commercial focus, supporting customers across defence, aerospace, telecommunications and satellite sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities within target markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, engineering, procurement and strategic customers.
• Conduct on‑site visits, technical presentations, product demonstrations and commercial discussions.
• Interpret customer technical requirements and propose appropriate RF and microwave solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and support commercial negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to assess feasibility and develop tailored solutions.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle from enquiry to project delivery, recording activities in the CRM system.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
• Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events.
• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical or engineering sales, preferably within RF, microwave, electronics or telecommunications.
• Strong ability to understand and translate technical customer requirements into solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel across central and eastern England and occasional international trips.
