Field Sales Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Drive new business growth with high‑potential imaging customers, turning opportunities into quotations and closed orders.
• Identify and develop design‑in opportunities that create short‑ and long‑term recurring revenue.
• Build strong customer relationships from R&D, engineering and purchasing through to CEO/CTO level, ensuring smooth, informed decision‑making.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑sales technical support, resolving potential post‑delivery issues quickly and professionally.
• Collaborate with internal teams to progress orders, update the CRM and maintain accurate sales activity reporting.
• Act as a product expert at exhibitions and in direct customer conversations, showcasing imaging and photonics value with confidence.

Required profile

• A relevant technical qualification (e.g., Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics) or comparable technical sales experience.
• Proven experience selling specialist thermal imaging cameras and accessories into multiple market sectors, ideally including OEM and scientific sales cycles.
• Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills, with the ability to operate at both engineering and commercial levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including confident telephone and face‑to‑face selling.
• A proactive approach to commercial awareness, negotiation and closing deals, supported by accurate CRM discipline.
