Field Sales Manager – Powder Coatings

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to build a sales function from the ground up, with genuine autonomy, promoting powder coating solutions across a national footprint. You will be the first field sales professional for a new business within an established construction sales group.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and own the sales function for powder coatings, targeting new products such as roofing, guttering, panels and external metalwork.
• Develop new business across fabrication, metalworking, OEM and related industrial sectors.
• Achieve a realistic first‑year sales target of approximately £500,000.
• Spend four days per week on the road visiting customers and one day in the office/factory.
• Build relationships with manufacturers, end‑users and technical decision‑makers.
• Progress towards a senior leadership position as the business grows.

Required profile

• Proven experience in powder coatings and field sales.
• Demonstrated new‑business tenacity and ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a team.
• Existing contacts within fabrication, metalworking, OEM or related sectors are advantageous.
• Comfortable operating in technical, industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Highly organised, self‑driven and able to manage nationwide travel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

What we offer

• Salary between £55,000 and £60,000 per year plus a 20% company bonus scheme.
