Field Service Engineer – Electrical (Medical & Industrial)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our brand‑new service centre in Southampton. The role combines on‑site work at hospitals and mobile medical units with regional field visits across the South of England.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and service electrical systems in mobile medical and modular units.
• Carry out inspections, testing and corrective repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota (one week in every four) for emergency support.
• Complete a comprehensive 12‑month training programme.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Installation.
• BS 7671 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations certification.
• 2391 inspection and testing qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, servicing and fault finding, preferably within industrial, medical, life‑sciences or healthcare environments.

• Basic salary £42,000‑£50,000 per year
• £115 monthly cost‑of‑living allowance
