Field Service Engineer – Electrical (Southampton)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Field Service Engineer (Electrical) to join a leading global provider of medical devices. Based in Southampton, you will receive specialist training on mobile, hybrid and relocatable medical equipment and will be responsible for maintaining these assets across the South of England and, when required, nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical maintenance, inspections, testing and repairs on medical devices and mobile accommodation units.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults promptly to minimise equipment downtime.
• Plan and execute scheduled service visits two weeks in advance while also responding to reactive maintenance calls.
• Travel to NHS and private healthcare sites, covering primarily the South of England with occasional nationwide trips.
• Participate in on‑call duties, receiving additional pay for call‑outs.

Required profile

• Holding a City & Guilds 2391 qualification and the 18th edition electrician’s licence.
• Willingness to commute within the South of England and travel nationally as needed.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards in a medical environment.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance, testing and repair.
• Diagnostic of electrical faults.
• Experience with medical equipment servicing (training will be provided).
• Ability to work independently and manage scheduled and reactive tasks.

• Competitive salary £40,000‑£50,000 per year (OTE up to £55,000).
