Field Service Engineer – Electrical (UK & Ireland)

About the role

A leading organisation in the electrical power and energy systems sector is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to commission, service and maintain critical electrical equipment across the UK and Ireland. The role involves on‑site technical support, fault‑finding and delivering high levels of system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Commissioning & Installation: install, test and configure electrical equipment at customer sites.
• Servicing & Maintenance: diagnose faults, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, conduct inspections.
• Fault Finding & On‑Site Support: provide expert troubleshooting, respond to breakdowns and service requests, participate in on‑call rota after probation.
• Customer Training & Engagement: deliver basic operational training, give technical guidance and build strong relationships with customers and site teams.
• Performance monitoring: ensure safety compliance, achieve first‑time fix rates, maintain accurate technical reports and meet service KPIs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar electrical engineering role.
• Strong background in electrical systems, commissioning and maintenance.
• Experience working in customer‑facing, field‑based environments across the UK and Ireland.
• Ability to work on‑call and travel to sites within a 2‑hour radius of London.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000–£43,000 (DOE) per year.
• 7.5% variable bonus and holiday pay for overtime.
• Car allowance of £568 per month.
• Remote working with occasional travel to customer sites (max 2‑hour drive from London).
