Field Service Engineer

About the role

The role is with a market‑leading materials handling business, providing service, maintenance and repair for forklift trucks and a range of material handling equipment (MHE) across customer sites in the local area. You will work autonomously, organising your own diary while receiving strong technical support and ongoing manufacturer training.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery, HGVs and other industrial vehicles on‑site.
• Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Organise workload and diary independently.
• Collaborate with a technical back‑office team for support and advice.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest equipment and technologies through manufacturer training.

Required profile

• Hands‑on servicing or maintenance experience, particularly with forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery, HGVs or industrial vehicles.
• Practical experience in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Recognised engineering qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: previous field service engineer role and a minimum Level 3 engineering qualification.
