Field Service Engineer – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a specialist industrial client on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for delivering planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on a range of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled services and maintenance of company equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Identify and source specialist components and connectors as required.
• Modify and service generator fleets under guidance from the Technical Manager.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, including overtime and on‑call rota duties.
• Repair and maintain machinery in line with manufacturer and company requirements.
• Support high‑performance teams through training and knowledge sharing.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental and quality management systems.

• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Diesel fitting experience.
• Familiarity with electronic systems, engines and alternators.
• Generator maintenance and modification.
• Use of diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Deep Sea equipment knowledge.
• Synchronising experience.
• Good IT proficiency.
