Field Service Engineer – Midlands

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a long‑established, family‑owned engineering business that supplies and supports industrial machinery for solid wood, wood‑based panels, plastics, composites and metals. You will work from home and travel door‑to‑door across the Midlands, delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair services on customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair industrial machinery at customer locations.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Respond to breakdowns, perform machinery inspections and produce accurate service reports.
• Provide technical advice to customers and machine operators while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Background as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong mechanical engineering foundation with knowledge of electrical fault‑finding.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Midlands (and occasionally the wider UK).
