Field Service Team Leader (Forklift Trucks)

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Team Leader to oversee a small team of engineers while remaining hands‑on with forklift and materials‑handling equipment. The role combines technical service, complex diagnostics and leadership, with around 70 % of time spent on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklifts and other materials‑handling equipment.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic faults.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of 3‑4 field engineers.
• Act as the escalation point for advanced diagnostics and recurring issues.
• Manage a personal customer base, including service schedules and breakdown response.
• Support team performance through workload planning and first‑time‑fix improvement.

Required profile

• Senior Field Service Engineer or Technical Specialist background.
• Experience working on plant, forklift or similar equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
