Field Service Vehicle Engineer

About the role

Join a fast‑growing automotive recruitment business as a Field Service Vehicle Engineer, working Monday‑to‑Friday day shifts. You will travel to a network of customer sites across North London, Essex and the surrounding area, delivering maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of commercial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to call‑outs, preventative maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
• Perform pre‑arranged servicing at rural sites and MOT preparation.
• Carry out engine diagnostics, repair work and correction of running defects.
• Execute chassis and fabrication tasks, including hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
• Inspect and correct electrical wiring and improve overall vehicle standards.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, independent and able to travel daily.
• Fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician or apprenticeship‑accredited.
• Class 2 licence (beneficial but not mandatory).
• Strong understanding of vehicle technology and repair processes.
• Commitment to health and safety and a problem‑solving mindset.

• Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and RORO vehicle systems.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Engine diagnostics and MOT preparation.
• Chassis fabrication and electrical wiring.
