Field Supervisor – Overhead Lines (up to 33kV)

About the role

We are looking for a field‑based Supervisor (OHL) to lead multiple teams of operatives in the installation, construction and refurbishment of overhead lines up to 33 kV. Reporting to the Assistant/Project Manager, you will be responsible for programming, site safety and logistics to ensure projects are delivered safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Install, build and refurbish overhead lines up to 33 kV in line with Freedom and customer standards.
• Maintain and develop personal competence in line with legislative changes and customer requirements.
• Provide guidance to team members on safe and efficient execution of work.
• Monitor and report progress and team performance to the Project Manager.
• Liaise with the Project Manager/Assistant to coordinate resources and with third parties to facilitate smooth implementation.
• Enforce Freedom’s SHE policy, conduct daily risk assessments and site safety inspections.
• Ensure compliance with method statements, risk assessments and traffic management plans.
• Report accidents, near‑misses and safety concerns, and drive corrective actions.
• Take charge in emergencies and follow prescribed procedures.

Required profile

• Freedom Driver Permit and a valid driving licence.
• First Aid, Manual Handling and Working at Height certifications.
• Winch Operation, IPAF 1b MEWP Operation and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications.
• NRSWA Supervisor and City & Guilds 2322 DNO Authorisation (up to 33 kV, live line working, polarity training, sub‑station entry).
• Safe Digging Techniques, Environmental Awareness, CDM Awareness and Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme.
• Minimum 5 years practical experience on overhead line projects up to 33 kV.
