Field Surveyor (Home-based with field visits)

About the role
Ordnance Survey is seeking motivated individuals to join its nationwide network of Field Surveyors. Working primarily from home, you will travel across a designated region – North Devon Coast, Taunton area or Plymouth – to capture and maintain high‑quality geospatial data that underpins the nation’s mapping products.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute field surveys of residential and commercial developments for HM Land Registry.
- Conduct site inspections and boundary investigations, recording measurements and evidence.
- Collect, assess, edit and maintain geospatial data to defined specifications.
- Manage your own workload and schedule across a wide geographical area.
- Travel throughout Great Britain, including occasional overnight stays.
Required profile
- Self‑motivated, resilient and comfortable working independently.
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to navigate varied terrain.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Good organisational abilities and capacity to plan your own workload.
Required skills
- Spatial awareness (tested during selection).
