Field Tower Crane Electrician

About the role

Falcon Tower Crane Services is seeking a Field Tower Crane Electrician to join its Tower Crane Division on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role is field‑based, covering customer sites across the UK and occasional overseas locations, with flexible working hours driven by operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, install and de‑commission tower cranes at customer sites.
• Install ancillary electrical items such as aviation lights, floodlights, illuminated signs, anti‑collision systems and anemometers.
• Diagnose and repair tower crane electrical breakdowns.
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and safety inspections.
• Work at height and in all weather conditions, following safe systems of work and rescue procedures.

Required profile

• 2391‑51 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 (Mechanical or Electrical) and current BS 7671 (18th edition) wiring regulations knowledge.
• Desirable: CPCS Slinger/Signaller (A40B), NVQ Level 4 Lifting Operations, Appointed Person Lifting Operations (AP A61).
• Ability to read schematics and follow manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and the capacity to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Fault finding and problem‑solving on electrical systems.
• Competence with 3‑phase electrical supplies.
• Competence with low‑voltage AC and DC control circuits.
• Schematic diagram interpretation.
• Inspection and testing of electrical installations.
• CPCS Slinger/Signaller certification.
• Lifting operations expertise.
