Fieldwork Manager – G5 (6‑month temporary)

About the role

The South Lanarkshire Council Children and Justice Services are recruiting a temporary Fieldwork Manager for a six‑month period. This senior role provides strategic managerial oversight for key Justice social work services across the council.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic management of Pan‑Lanarkshire Court Services, Recovery‑Oriented Justice Services (ROJS), Whole System Approach (WSA) for ages 18‑25, and Unpaid Work Services (UPW).
• Ensure delivery of the national community justice strategy and local justice priorities.
• Develop and implement strategic service delivery plans and monitor performance against national and local justice strategies.
• Collaborate with the Justice management team to align services with the national community justice vision.

Required profile

• Minimum five years post‑qualifying experience in a statutory social work setting.
• Previous line‑management or social work management role.
• Ability to undertake Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) level 2 and access the ViSOR system.
• Strong knowledge of strategic service planning and implementation within justice services.

What we offer

• Annual salary range £67,430 – £68,470.
• 35 hours per week, Monday‑Thursday 8:45 am‑4:45 pm, Friday 8:45 am‑4:15 pm.
• Temporary fixed‑term contract for six months, based at Council Headquarters, Hamilton.
